There are many reasons to live here. Our little known natural assets draw many to the area. The pristine beauty and natural environs, clean air and water are compelling indeed. The area has abundant wildlife and spectacular scenery. Long time residents are welcoming. Traditional family values are deeply held. There is always time for conversation and there is a strong sense of community. While there are not many people, residents take care of one another and help out readily when needed.

The centerpiece of natural resources is undoubtedly the Buffalo National River, a 140 mile long wild river, the first designated National River in America. It features canoeing and hundreds of miles of hiking trails. Nature lovers love the changing seasons, each offering its unique attractions. The Buffalo River region remains one of the best kept secrets in the US.

National Park Service - America's First National River:  The Buffalo River flows free over swift running rapids and quiet pools for its 135-mile length. One of the few remaining rivers in the lower 48 states without dams, the Buffalo cuts its way through massive limestone bluffs traveling eastward through the Arkansas Ozarks and into the White River.
